i would believe that on the nova and i have seen what you are talking about.i also wonder if the fact that the nova was priced a bit less than the corolla that it just attracted buyers that were less apt to do maintenance.i have noticed this with geo owners.to them they are just throw away cars.my buddy had a nova years ago and he rode it hard and we seemed to keep it going with fairly little effort.i am wondering if there is any way to tell the motors apart when out of the car.this motor i found is at a salvage yard but all their good motors are stored in a warehouse.

Here's a good picture of what a 4A-C looks like. I think the engine is in a TE71 Corolla.

The picture itself is big, 262KB.

Cool, huh?

I don't know if this is just a west coast thing, but we have a bunch of places here in Southern California that sell "good used Japanese engines" with like 30,000 miles on them. There is a place in Reseda that sells the 3ac for about $375 complete and a 4ac was $100 more. If anybody wants a phone # I can find it. I don't have it on me right now. I was going to go there, so if anyone knows if these so called low mileage engines are good and actually have low mileage, please let me know.
