I don't know any "official" values, but if I needed one (not just as a spare), I'd pay $500 for an automatic that I knew was in good shape.

$700 seems a bit high, most wrecking yards will want from $250-$400, usually delivered and with a one year warranty. I have no idea about auto trans, likely a similar price. Picknpull gets $130, plus a $30 core charge ($160 outright), with a 30 day warranty for ether manual or auto, but of course you have to pull it yourself and haul it out. for $30 more they will extend the warranty to one year. So if you figure pulling the trans is worth say $140? That would put it about $300 value.

Are you needing a trans as a spare? I have an auto for sale for $100, including drive shaft, pumpkin etc. I am only 3 1/2 hours north of Spokane.

A rebuilt trans would be worth perhpas $1000. I have some spare T4wd trans in my garage that need reubilding, I was considering having one for myself, and than after I get the rebuild process down on that one offer to list members rebuilt Tercel4wd for about $1000. Not sure there will be many takers at that price, but with care a fresh trans should go another 200k miles.

I do work at an auto wrecking yard (Spalding auto parts) its the biggest wrecking yard on the west coast and we haven't had one avilable in over 3 years and the last one was a manual, atleast thats what the computer system sais. it was @ 155,000 miles and was 550 plus 100 for shipping. And with the auto being rarer I figured it was worth the same or maybe more especialy rebuilt.

I would never pay that much for a used trans. Most conventional wrecking yard do not carry cars as old as the T4wd because there is not much demand for parts on cars that old. That is why yards like Pick-n-pull always end up with them, they rarely have cars newer than about 10 years old because they get the same price for all the parts, and the newer models get bid up by the other wrecking yards, so they get what is left.

there were a few of the importers that were bring in low miles (40k miles) used T4wd trans from Japan for $600, with a one year warranty. That would have been a good deal if you can find one. Not too many now, even in Japan, the Tercel4wd is a very old car and not many around.
