This forum is for cars that run, or at least are close to running. This isn't for parting out complete cars.

i wonder if it has matching trans and diffs in it now. i think it changed hands a few times and the 4wd didn't work because it had mismatched gearing.

It seems to me like the low mileage Tercel wonders go thru more owners than other cars. This one has the coveted factory cruise control.

My engine's cleaner ;)

why would a car with such low mileage have a trans and rear dif swapped out?

and why no mention of possible electric or water damage issues from the Diary Queen Commercial?

I think it got ice cream in the differential--a medium sized snickers blizzard if not mistaken.

No water was ever in the car, that was "holleywood" special effects. they hung bags of water on the door if I recall, a previous owner of the car had posted some of the details of the history. I think they got the car with a bad trans, and than installed a 2wd trans, and did the paint job, for the filming, they tried to sell it like that for an even higher price, but there were no takers. someone bought it and put in a 4wd trans, but it had a mismatched diff ratio from the rear, and another owner (if I recall) finally sorted it all out. Now they are just trying sell it based on the "celebrity" status of the car. not sure anyone cares about that, if it belonged to someone famous, perhaps. there were several threads on this same car on the forum.
