Alright. I had BestBuy wire me up a Pioneer deck in my 86. I want it in the 84. The 84 HAD a nice deck put in maybe 5 years ago, but someone cut that out.
I want to transfer the splicing for my new deck into the older one, but the plugs in the 84 are older and much bigger. So I checked the wire colors. I found Yellow, White, Pink, Black, Blue, Red, Light Green, Purple, Brown, Blue-Yellow, and a greyish-whitish wire in the 86. The 84 easily has twice the wires and only a few are the same colors. Does anyone know how these colors correspond? I REALLY want sound in the 84.

Is your factory harness cut? If it isn't then you can look at the harness diagrams on installdr.com. If it is you need the FSM for the 84. The plugs only changed once in 1987, but they seemed to change wire colours every year. Failing that, you can use an electrical tester to find out what each wire does, i.e. which wires power up when, and for the speaker wires which terminal of which speaker they connect to. That's your last resort.
