Got my two yesterday- looks like they'll work just fine. Thinking of installing one in my '83 and setting the timing at full advance (45-47 degrees with full vac and mechanical advance in.) Don't think i'll have a ping problem since i've always run premium gas.

Any thoughts?
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!

I don't think running full advance will work too well with the 3.73 final drive and a stock cam, unless you were to live at high altitude. On a hot day going up a hill, running over 10 degrees BTDC will result in some ping. 12-14 degrees BTDC should work ok on premium, but with slight ping under heavy load at lower rpms.

i agree with t4wdrules. i have always got ping if i went beyond 10* BTDC when setting the timing with the manifold vac disconnected and plugged. but maybe you have one of those fancy timing lights that tells you how much advance you are running at any given moment so you have a different method for setting the timing, i don't know. i'm aware of those timing lights but am not familiar with them or know how they work.

i have been gone fishing
when i got home i had the vac adv's i ordered
(2) Beck Arnley 179-0231 ( the one for 11 something with 3 ports)
i also ordered
(1) Beck Arnley 179-0281 ( it cost 17 something and has two ports, the high altitude port is not there)

both will work for me as i do not need the high altitude port
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.
