just installed a 32/36 on my wagon. I need help wiring up the electric choke from the carb to the vehicle wire harness. My question is which wire (wire color) from the vehicle wire harness do i hook my carb electric choke up to? Some wire colors have black with white stripe, red with white stripe, solid blue etc..........
Anyone know the wire color, please let me know. Im one of the very few wagons rolling around the Honolulu Hawaii area and im proud to do so.
Mahalo! (thank you)

my terc w/ a weber is long gone but according to this post here

the red (presumably with a white stripe) should go to the choke. you can test this by using a volt or multimeter. there should be 12+ volts when the engine is running and no power at other times.
i was on kauai last december. i was amazed at the 80's toyota truck culture there. it seemed like every second vehicle was a mint condition 80's toyota pickup with a brand new lift, new paint, shiny wheels, etc. i only saw one tercel wagon though, and i think it was a 2wd and it looked ROUGH.

Don't take this the wrong way, but - is the original wire from the OE Aisan carb still present?
It has a red sleeve on it on most (all?) of our cars. See splatterdog's https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php? ... ilit=weber
However...I did see one member's (deejay1272) car that had a yellow wire, though...and dlb's used a gray wire... Dunno if these are the OE wires, though.
You might also check the wiring diagrams at the back of the FSM.
OT, but are you using a fuel regulator and/or a gauge? See https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php? ... ine#p33319

Thank you and Archinstl. I will look for the associated wire. Kauai is old skool 80's Toyota truck crazy indeed. If you dont have a old skool 80"s truck, you are not in the "in" crowd. There is really not much to do on that island (compared to Honolulu) and all they do there is build sick, old skool trucks and cars.dlb wrote:my terc w/ a weber is long gone but according to this post here
