California spotting

This forum is for cars that run, or at least are close to running. This isn't for parting out complete cars.

I always love the "it needs work" but they never say what.

this car belongs to list member Tercel4wdrules. according to him it needs an alternator belt, valve cover gasket, perhaps a new alternator (makes noises but charges okay), a rear wheel bearing and the CV axles are clicking. I actually drive this car a year ago, it is pretty good mechanical shape and the body is good. The paint suffers from California sun fade and clear coat peeling. according to the owner it should pass CA smog test.

I am considering bring it up here to sell since I have to be in California in June anyway and would like to drive home rather than take an airplane.

Ah, wasn't really a ding against him, I just see that a ton while car shopping.

"Runs, needs work!" ... what work?

I just wanted to focus on the positives of the car instead of the work it needs for that particular ad. From what I have noticed, most people are interested in t4wd wagons that don't need a lot of mechanical work and are willing to pay more for one that needs little work.
