if just the axles are missing and nothing else
and everyting else is connected together right (tie rods, lower ball joint and shocks)
it should tow ok
some oil might get pumped out the tranny axle holes
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

How far are you towing? One precaution is without the axles in place there is no clamping force on the wheel bearings.

Get all those trans parts, they might be valuble later.

Should be okay, but you could lose the axle stub if you rip around corrners. the hub is held in place with press fit into the inner and outer bearing races, should be okay for straight ahead towing only a few miles, I have done much more than that. if concerned you could put a large bolt with nut and washers through the axle holes to hold the hub together, it would save the front bearings if they are good and you should happen to have the hub slip out (it would damage the bearings and seals if it is other wise in good condition). Or put it up on a front wheel dolly.

Make sure the drive shaft is removed at the rear diff, only four 12mm bolts and it pops off. You do not want the drive shaft to flop around when you tow it. It will do a lot of damage to the driveshaft and the underside of the car.

Got the car home no problem turns out that there is a complete tranny in it with no 5th gear and all the extra parts posted earlier. Put a set of jumpers on it and it fired right up runs great. Its to bad i am so far away from most of the people on this forum the extra tranny stuff is available to any takers if anyone is in the reno area i now have 5 trannys total all with good parts. If there is anyone in need of a specific part I'm happy to ship it for shipping cost only. Haven't decided if I'm going to part out the whole car yet or not it is a little rusty but a complete 1985 sr5 for 200 dollars how could i say no. My family thinks I'm going nuts 8 t4s in 4 years
