well the saga continues . I got my used tranny from risingsun engines the 1st week in march . I installed a new clutch and new axle seal's and installed the tranny . I used reg gear oil . I let the car warm up and then put it in reverse and backed out the drive way and drove back and forth on my dead end street in 1st and 2nd gear a few times and then I put in 3rd and the tranny made a big awfule noise and the car ground to a hault . you could only move the car with the clutch in . something came apart inside . well a buddy helped me get the car back into the garage and I put it up on jack's and drained the oil and I got green foamy gear oil and lot's of gear chunks . I'm glad it came with a 90 day warrenty . I pulled the tranny and contacted Jerry at risingsun and told him what had happened . He told me he would start looking for another one . well I wasn't going to pay the $100 to ship it back so on the 14th of march I loaded the tanny into the back of my Honda prelude and drove the 7+ hours down to Chico , Ca to drop off the tranny . Jerry and his tranny guy said it was junk and they warrentied it . he did find another one and it's on a truck up to Oregon right now . I hope this one is better then the last . It will be nice to get this car back on the road again . I will keep you all posted , Bruce .

:) yeh , I got a good tranny this time . I got my tranny a few weeks ago and got around to installing it last week . It works great . Now the carb is giving me grief . It idled good but feel on it's face under hard acceleration . I limped it home and it did ok on part throttle but it didn't want anything more . I pulled the carb off and swapped it with a junk yard carb I got for $15.00 that looked to be very clean and posibly rebuilt . With the new/old carb installed it idled up and down like a fuel injected car does when you have vacum leaks . I checked all the lines and when I disconected the vac line at the TP PORT on the car it started to idle like it's suppose to . the vac is controlled by a vac switch thats located on the pass fender . I checked it out and it's ok . I drove it around and it runs well but it smells like it's running rich . I should note that this is a 3 ac motor so it has a ecu . Check out my new avitar , this is the other terc 4x4 Sr5 wagon I just bought awhile back off craigslist for $300 .
