Hello, I'm new to the forum (well to the internet really)
thought you'all might like to check out my 83 al25 4wd that I just posted for sale locally in Montana.
I'm giving the local Montuckyans out there a shot at it first, but I'm motivated to sell, and if that means selling to an out-of-stater then i will bite the bullet and help you get it loaded on a trailer if necessary. this is not my first terc I've owned, rather it's my third and i'm ready to finally find my dream tercel! an SR5 of course! I'll try to get the link to my ad up along with a picture. feel free to PM me or just call my number on the craigslist ad (the area code is 406)

Welcome to the list Mo4wd!

Nice work on the Tercel, looks like it is well worth it. I notice in the pics you have urethane bushings on the front sway bar, what part number are those and who makes them? did you find a good replacement for the doughnut bushing used on the end of the sway bad where it passes though the lower arm? How did you raise the car? did the front CV axles give any trouble becasue of the higher angle on them, what kind of struts did you use?

Yeah, welcome to the club for sure. Wicked ride Mo4wd. Good questions Petros I was curious about the lift components myself. 15 inch wheels is a lot to stuff under these rigs.

I was scoping out something the other day on the web and came across a custom Terc lift kit. Came with custom CV's and control arms. I will look for that website and post the link in case it interests anyone else.

Peace

who would actually market a Tercel lift kit? yes, I gotta see that. I want to see what they did, what you get, and how much it cost.

Thank You! The red urethane's up front are universal from autozone, as a means to drive it temporarily (while my OEM's from "MOOG" are on order). The Bushings on the end are custom made out of shore "A" 60 (thats the rubber's hardness) so they are a little soft, I think. I'm planning on finding a good set of Poly's for that soon, (or have some custom ones molded, my friend happens to work at a shop in town that can make them). Front Lift is 1.75" using a custom made leveling kit Factory struts (and I have an extra set of really good condition salvaged but like new) Rear is at 2", uses jeep coil springs (It rides level with 300 lbs in the back) and bar pin extensions for the factory shocks (the shocks could use replacing, I was going to use jeep xj FRONTS, way more heavy duty, already longer so no ext. needed, and they should bolt right on with a small steel collar) The rims are aluminum and larger to reduce overall wheel weight, which really helps compensate for any added strain on the drive line components due to increased size. Obviously she's still a bit gutless (but hey, I'm sure that I am not the only one who is considering the 4agve as a possible candidate) it was owned by the owner of a locksmith before me, who more or less took care of it. She's been a great project but I've put about as much as I can into her, Lots of hours, I still have a lot of work planned but I would like to start over someday with the perfect one without a single scratch. I have a gastrointestinal issue that has prevented me from driving or working on it for the last month anyways, so I decided to let her find a new home. By the way my friends and I call'er "CLAIM JUMPER"
Hope this info helps!

there are sites that sell urethane bushings for other models of toyota like the MR2, and thy use similar rubber parts as the Tercel, so it might be worth experiment with suppliers of MR2 suspension bushing parts. The rear axle is the same as the RWD corolla so there should be plenty of up grade components for the rear axle as long as you know what to order.

Petros thanks for the info, that will really help. Haven't had to worry bout anything else. All the stock parts are good, and have been taken care of, including the back axle.
