Re: 1992 Corolla 4X4 Wagon - $3400 (Campbell River, BC)
Cool car, sounds and looks like it has been maintained well. It still has high miles no matter how you look at it though. And being a '92 this car is only available to the Canadian market. Unfortunately cars must be '88 or older to import into the states.
Not sure that the car is set at an affordable price even for what it is...these cars are cool but not for how much us being asked. I am always surprised at how sellers hike up the price on certain cars that have a good following in order to capitalize. Good luck on the sale but toooooo rich for my blood (and outta year range).
Peace

Re: 1992 Corolla 4X4 Wagon - $3400 (Campbell River, BC)
it does have high miles but remember that these are km and not miles, so 278,000 km = about 173,000 miles. my all trac has 333,000 km on, while two of my friends have all tracs with 400,000 km on them, and all of them run amazingly well.
as for price, it's interesting because petros has mentioned that he had trouble selling an all trac down in WA, but they routinely sell for around $3000 up here. one really nice one even sold in under two weeks for over $4000 from a used car lot a few years ago. i find them much smoother and nicer to drive than T4's so i can understand why they sell for so much more than most tercs up here but it's strange that it's so different just across the border.

Ah, yes I forgot about the km factor. Makes the deal a lot better now. I would say the fair price for that car would be $3000 max down here. A nice car for sure but people down here don't really know about them so there is not a huge market calling. Mostly the ski bums grab these up...prob just because it is AWD, not because they know anything about these cars.
Would be nice to get one of these in the fleet too.

yeah man, i love mine. we went on a new years road trip in it with 3 people and the rest of the car JAM PACKED, as in no room left. the car was so weighed down it was pretty much doing a catwalk the whole way there and back, and i still got 29 mpg. and guess who got stuck in the snow—not me, but the guy in the massive 4x4 truck did!

Off topic but similar situatiion I had. I had a little "84 2wd Yota pup that I called Little Burro. That truck would go anywhere and could make it to places that other rigs couldn't. Yeah, I said 2wd.
So, we went on a little camping/festival/party expedition years ago in my more party days to a little old mining town /hot spring in middle Idaho. The weather was great when we arrived but 2 days later when we left there was 10" of snow that we woke up to. Of all the rigs up there which included 2 4x4 chev trucks, a suby outback, a nissan 4wd SUV, and my Little Burro. My truck not only led the way out through the deep snow and crazy long and nasty mountain roads during a snow storm but was also the only vehicle not to get stuck once. Haha, gotta love the Yotas, even the 2wd's.

I wonder - would it be enough to change the VIN tag on the dash, the firewall tag, and the DS door jamb tag with "salvaged" tags and then pass US inspection? Is that done at the border or when an attempt is made to license it in the buyer's state? I presume Canadian cars have the same 3 tags as do US cars?
That car really looks nice!

Re: 1992 Corolla 4X4 Wagon - $3400 (Campbell River, BC)
My friend that heads to BC quite a bit to buy cars, mostly Yota Vanwagons (4x4's) has talked about that before. Kind of a risk but how far into the inspection do they go? Down here in Idaho if an out of state vehicle gets registered then we need to get a vehicle VIN inspection before licensing. They only check the dash VIN but with the right reapplication of a tag it would prob work.
I personally don't want anyhing that much to go through the risk. Guess I will just have to wait till it's 2017 to bring in a '92 rig to the states. Or maybe the rules will change and importing will be easier.
And, yes it is a very nice car.
Peace
