Welcome to the list ray.

internally they are identical, there may be a few variations of external emissions controls equipment, if different you can swap it over.. Also, if it came from an auto trans car and going into a manual trans car, you will have to switch over the flywheel and the pilot bearing in the back of the crank.

wow, that's a huge lift. i don't think anyone has gotten close to that. you would probably need to mod the trailing arms and panhard rod if you go that high so that the trailing arms don't displace the rear axle too far forward and so that the panhard rod doesn't displace it out the passenger side. forum member littlered4wd has had success with a few lifts, search through his posts to find what he likes. he has posted some pics of his off road terc (as well as a slammed one) and it looks formidable. check the FAQ in the general section for the most common lift options.

there was a corolla all trac for sale in powell river a little while ago. it was tempting but ultimately passed on it. PR is pretty remote, no? do you have to take a ferry from courtenay?

DLB is correct, there is no easy way to lift it that far without a lot of cutting and welding. several have tried to get three inches in the front but you end up blowing out the strut seal because the struts top out, and you have so much angle on the CV axles that you blow through CV joints very fast. If you space down the top of the strut to raise the front, you have to lower the engine to keep the CV angle reasonable, and that looses you the extra clearance you are trying to gain. Also, it will do really bad things to the suspension geometry, so you need to know how to make changes to the steering/sway bar set up to eliminate bump steer and binding of the moving parts of the suspension.

You can gain about 1.5 to 2 inches of lift without too much trouble, and than use tall tires (which may require clearance the fenders) to get you up to three inches of additional clearance. The front is what will give you all the issues, the rear not so much if you keep lift to about 3 inches, especially if you make or buy adjustable upper trailing arms.

Good luck.

thanks .it look like it.s gonna be harder than i tought. but i've got the holle winter.it look's like i'm gonna have to lower my goal.15 inch wheel and tall tire woud give me a good start .my back fender need some work anyway.
if you live on vancouver island , you take the ferry from comox to powell river.if you comme from vancouver city you take the ferry at horseshoes bay to langdale( sunshine coast) then drive about 90km for 1:30 hour to earls cove take another ferry to saltery bay and your 25 km from powell river.yes PR is remote
thanks for the advise
