Welcome to the Club - lots of helpful and clever folks here. Don't forget to d/l the FSM - see the General Forum for info.
The front fenders are the same as used on sedans - that might help.
I think there was a slight difference between '83-6 and '87-8 because of the different headlight group, but am not sure; possibly it just involved the side marker assembly.
You might go to the EPC sticky in the Part Numbers - OE and Aftermarket Forum and explore.

Re: WTB front fenders
i actually just swapped both front fenders from an '84 on to an '87 with no issues so there are no problems in that respect. i think the only variable is the location of the antenna, which can be on either fender. both my '84 and '87 had it on the passenger side but i haven't seen any rhyme or reason as to which cars have it on which side so that is something you might need to watch for on a car to car basis. of course, you could always remove the entire antenna with its wire and swap it to the other side. would only take a few more minutes.ARCHINSTL wrote:I think there was a slight difference between '83-6 and '87-8 because of the different headlight group, but am not sure

Fenders for both wagons and sedans are interchangable--but double-check the oem parts numbers. This would help solve your dilemma. For myself, I've become very familiar with BondoHair, as far as my front fenders are concerned.

Re: WTB front fenders
Ha! Wouldn't it be really something to make a whole fender from Bondo? That much Bondo would cost more than replacement fenders!
Naw, I just use the BondoHair to fill rusty spots--even larger rusty spots--on the existing fenders, but I'm sure there's a size limit to what can be done.
However, if you use backing material, large areas can be filled in and repaired--I've used hardware cloth as backing material, even thin sheet metal, packed it with BondoHair, then contoured the repair with body files and sandpaper. Good results.
