Another problem,
When I was given this 83 Tersel, the 40amp fuse in the front engine compartment fuse box was blown.
One, is it worth it to trouble shoot this problem in the big picture?
Two, if yes the CMH relay is noted in fsm to be in the right fender apron, is this behind the washer fluid and coolant over flow containers.
Tried replacing the 40 amp fuse, but it just sizzles and blows. Thinking that the CMH relay is possibly fryed and causing the problem?

Re: CMH QUESTIONS
kitchman, i think it's worth fixing it. the CMH improves driveability when cold, and i've found carbs need all the help they can get with that. i hated it when my weber carb would act funny and stall on idle due to icing for the first 5 minutes of driving. besides, it's not going to be an expensive or difficult fix, and shouldn't take long to track down.
i would check the appropriate wiring to see if any of it is damaged and causing the electrical flow to back up and blow the fuse. if you don't see anything obvious, try following the tests from the FSM. it starts on EC-61, or page 149. let us know what you find.

Re: CMH QUESTIONS
Thanks for the reply,
The only thing that I found was that the ohm resistance across the two leads connected to the CMH heater was found to be 3.8-4.2 verses the fsm spec. of .5-2.0. There is conntinuity between the two leads. Now thinking that the actual heater element is bad and causing an excessive amount load, thus causing the 40 amp fuse to blow. Could not find any part listing for the CMH heater.

Re: CMH QUESTIONS
i would hit a scrap yard or ask someone on here to send you one. don't bother buying one new, the cost won't be worth it.
