1983 Toyota Tercel 4WD DLX - $350 (Los Angeles, CA)

This forum is for cars that run, or at least are close to running. This isn't for parting out complete cars.

no need to be so aggressive, ... i don't think this is worth arguing over.
I am sorry, I did not intend to come across as argumentative or aggressive. I was just stating a fact, and personal observation after running several buisnesses, including doing a lot of advertizing in some of them. It may not be worth it to you to write a good ad, but the better the ad, the more useful information in it, the more responce you will get, no matter what you are selling.

this is a long proven fact of any advertizing. Notice too I wrote "useful information", not BS or hype. It is interesting however that most of the big advertizing done on TV and print, have very little useful information, and full of BS and hype. Even people paid to create ads do not know this simple fact.

Hah, I also notices a newbie has already responded to Tercel4wdrules, so even my example here has worked!

That's an awesome car - $500 or less of parts will bring it back into safe driveable shape, it looks like.

It actually runs pretty good it just needs some suspension work to really be road worthy. But for 350 and it drove all the way from L.A. to Riverside in one piece I'd say it was a bargain! I'm just glad to finally join the ranks :P

Good to hear Fadeone! once you work through all the issues sounds like you will have a great little Tercel4wd.

let that be a lesson to all of you: never write an ad when you are feeling all depressed and unhappy about having to sell your car.

I might want to sell my AT 1987 Tercel 4wd wgn. as well tercel4wd... Wondering if you wanna buy it if I do? I think I wanna go after the matching sedan on www.drom.ru..

I'm currently eying this one:
http://habarovsk.drom.ru/toyota/tercel/10311965.html

But before, I was trying to get either:
http://vladivostok.drom.ru/toyota/tercel/10452322.html
or
http://vladivostok.drom.ru/toyota/tercel/9661265.html

I found some way to import them..I'd sell my wagon in order to pay for the car and export of it..

This guy gives me ideas on how to go about the importation process:

so the guy spent $4000 to import a used $2500 car into the US? The Lada is an old Fiat design made in Russia. He should have done with a classic Porsche or Alfa or something more valuable.

I can not see spending that much on an old Tercel sedan unless you are getting something really unique and special, not sure the Euro Tercels are different enough to make the cost worth while.

I remember working on a Lada way back when they were "new".
Myriad electrical shorts, severe rust, seized brakes, anything made of plastic was brittle and broken, door handles were toast, nice blue exhaust smoke too.
Turn on the light switch and the wipers would go, hit the horn and the turn signals would flash, I hated that car.
None of the electrical bits had real plugs, just thousands of spade terminals with no colour indication, freakin nightmare it was.

By the way this was a garage kept car with less than 20,000 miles and it was only 1 YEAR OLD.
Hearing that someone actually desired it enough to drop that kind of coin is seriously hilarious.

terceldude has talked about importing cars from Europe many times before, but Russia is a new one for him...
I wonder if he knows where Vladivostock is located...?
For that matter, where Khabarovsk is located? This car has the trashed interior, no wheels, and is up on RR ties...
