passenger side mirror for 87 SR5

Post by North of 64 »

Hi, can someone cross reference the part number for this side mirror unit please. There are limited Tercel wagons up here but if the same part can be found on other years and models I might be able to find one sort of locally. Thanks for the help

Geeze, I miss the pick'n pulls!

the '85 through 86 tercel all models are the same, as are the '87. and '88 wagons. The next gen of Tercel from '87 through 90 (?) might also interchange (they look the same but I have not tried it). Also the '85 through '87 corolla uses the same mirrors, but some of the Corollas have an electric remote control mirror which will fit on the Tercel and looks the same, but has an electric motor in it (might be fun to adapt, if you do get the control panel off the dash and are willing to wire it up).

Also, the '83 and '84 Tercels and corollas also have mirrors that will fit, but they are a different style. So if you are stuck you can buy both sides of the early style and swap them both out.
'87 Tercel 4wd SR5 (current engine swap project)
'84 Tercel 4wd (daily driver, with on going mods)
'92 Mazda MPV 4wd (wife's daily driver)
'85 Tercel 4wd DLX auto(daughter's daily driver)
'01 Honda Civic (other daughter's daily driver)

hi liz. i think i have a spare 85-88 passenger side mirror you can have if you want it. i'll check tomorrow if you like.

also, as peter mentioned the older flip flop style mirrors can be altered to fit. i wrote a thread on this:

https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7696

i actually prefer the old ones. they give if the mirror hits something, like if someone walks into it on the ferry or if you 4x4 through tight trees. i have a few sets of them too, if you would prefer them.
