Well folks, good news. I got a call from the cops last night. They have recovered my tercel and it sounds like its not in too bad a condition. They are actually getting it fingerprinted this time (today). I sure hope they catch the little bastard(s) who stole it. And pass them over to me for punishment...

I'll update you all on what is wrong when I pick it up.

Suffice to say that I will be more on the ball with security measures this time round. I don't want to deal with this crap every again. <_<

Is that good news or bad news at this point? I'm glad you got it back.

Don't know yet. Its weird. It's liking being told someone is dead, mourning their loss, and then suddenly finding they are alive just after you got over it. Something to that affect anyhow... My mind had just sorted out how I was going to deal with all this crap, and now it has changed again.

Hope there's not any damage to the car. Whenever something like that happens, it always takes a few days for things to get back to the way it was....for it to feel like it's your car. Our house was burglarized several years ago, and I felt so violated....took a couple of weeks for it to even feel like it was my house again.

Anyway, glad you're getting the Terc back !! :)

1985 Tercel 4wd SR5 - 185K miles (not running)
1986 Tercel 4wd Dlx - 210K miles (dd)

Only 3 to go for the whole set ! lol

It's groundhog day all over again......? I'm starting to somehow see a pattern.

Hope they left the inclinometer....

I had a van stolen once along with some tools...they wanted the engine. Turned out to be an organized group of theives that specialized in VWs...got caught a couple years later.

Well, GTS, glad to hear your lovely Tercel was recovered. We have a hard time with vehicles theft here in Montréal. I had my 1990 Turbo Diesel Jetta stolen in 2002, never recovered.

If you need ANY parts that may be broken like trimming or any interior part, keep in mind I have a '87 Deluxe 4WD Wagon light blue with BLACK interior, like yours. So if you need a stupid trim piece, or seats parts, feel free to tell me, it will be a pleasure for me to ship to you, since you are in Canada, it's quite simple

About anti-theft, I have an ignition cut system with a push button hidden somewhere they will never find! With a FLASHY red LED, plus a Club on the steering..
Just in case

Keep us posted!!

Hey Vince, thanks very much for the offer of help, it is really appreciated. I'll let you know how things look when I pick the car up tomorrow.

I really have to install an ignition cut in both my cars too. Such a simple task, yet I never seem to get around to it. I think this recent theft experience will serve to motivate me though!

Cheers,

Nick

Great news GTS!
Hope all's well with the wagon.
Still keeping the Cressida? Maybe you could stick the wagon body on it? Maybe not.
Glad to hear your terc is recovered - let us know how bad she's hurt.
I almost look forward to winter now...

Well, finally was able to pick up my Tercel on Monday. Other than a forced drivers lock and ignition, as well as some missing items in the car, it seems to be in great shape still. I have not driven it too much though, as I have become addicted to the comfort and power of my Cressida. Now that I have my tercel back though, I am considering selling my Cressida to a friend of mine. Not totally sure yet though. Basically I don't need two cars right now, and would prefer just to get my money back out of the Cressida. Although I would not mind buying another one in better shape (body wise) in the future. I'm tired of rusty cars, no matter how good they run.

Thanks again for all the support everyone.
