1987 Tercel 4WD w/160K, T-Belt@132K

Hey, I think I'm finally parting ways with my Tercel. I'm the second owner, and I've had it since 2005 or '06. It's been everything you already know it is -- never not started, brilliant simple effective 4WD, most reliable thing I've ever owned (better than a Leica in my photographer-centered take), and a weak 6 speed transmission. I replaced the original transmission when I had the clutch replace in 2008, and put in a used tranny from another model. Worked great until last month, and now it sounds like something is going -- perhaps a throwout bearing, I have no idea.

The rest of the car has been very well cared for, and I was in the process of addressing and getting in front of any potential problems when the tranny started to whine. T-belt was done in 2008. All new brake hoses in 2010. New suspension in 2010. Engine consumes (or doesn't, depends) about a quart of oil between 3K-4K oil changes, or doesn't. The car needs nothing, except another tranny. The passenger side window doesn't roll down, and the A/C doesn't work. Minimal rust at the top of the front wheel wells.

I've got most receipts, even the original window sticker. This car spent the first ~20 years of its life in arid western Kansas (little to no road salt or snow), and was driven by the proverbial little old lady, but from Wakeeney, KS. Only 159XXX K miles. Get at me if you're interested, the car runs and drives great, just has a whine coming from the tranny. Which probably needs replaced.
