Hey Guys,
just to tell you I have a EMORMOUS quantity of parts for AL21-AL25 Tercels, i accumulated over years. Since my neighbor and I love 4wd tercel, We owned a few.
Every time a 4wd tercel was for sale for parts, We bought it and dismantle it.
We have 3 engines, 2 6-spd trannies, and a lot of difficult-to-find parts, like trim, or specific interior parts. I also have body parts, like doors.. I kept everything.
I'm glad this forum exist, its purpose is to help us together. So if you need any part, feel free to ask and I will go in the Alibaba garage to see if we have it. I plan to do an inventory to know exactly what I have.
My target is not to make money, juste helping you guys, instead of trashing those parts in years..
I LOVE those cars, and Can't understand how I did not found that forum earlier...
I did a lot of search last years, but I did not tought that there is so many Tercel 4wd lovers...
So, I want to share those parts with you!!!!
I'm located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Happy Terceling guys!!!
Vince

Hey, Vince, thanks for the source !! Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, I see several of these cars at the junkyard here in Nashville. I hate to see them being crushed. To me , these cars just make total sense.....good fuel economy, 4wd if you need it , reasonably comfortable, and for the most part easy to work on.
Any idea how difficult to replace the windshield ?? I caught a rock tonight....luckily the "star" isn't in my line of sight.
Welcome to the group !
Mike

Thanks, that's great! I'm doing the same thing, collecting parts for future use by myself and anyone else with the same car who needs them. I might need some good condition rear interior panels, the ones that cover the wheelwells, and those pop-off covers that cover the taillight bulbs. It's an 85-86 grey interior. Come to think of it, I would be interested in an 87-88 black interior to replace my grey, I would need all the black panels but not the carpet or seats or anything. I'm getting a new carpet and putting in Corolla GT-S seats.
Speaking of parts...anyone have an extra front passenger door with a working window for an 84? or one that fits. My window no longer rolls down withouth popping out of it's tracks. would be nice to have near painting time 9i wouldn't want to install it right away...my car looks ghetto enough without having the door not mtach the rest of the car.)
thanks,
Ian
thanks,
Ian
them: so you're telling me your tercel has 1.5 liters...where as my pepsi has two?

There are several hitches available that are made for the Tercel and a few other Toyotas with a similar rear bumper. They are all bumper hitches even though the Tercel wagon has sturdy frame rails with existing nuts where the bumper bolts on, that would make a nice hitch mount. Most of them have the flat bar ball mount but there is one that is actually a receiver hitch, where you can change the ball mounts to get a different height offset. The manufacturers are Reese, Draw-Tite, U-Haul and Hidden Hitch. You can find them all online. You can also get a cheap universal hitch that will fit and it's a lot cheaper, but it looks worse and involves more drilling into the bumper.

Je suis aussi Franco-Canadien. Je demeure a Winnipeg mais j'ai grandi en Ontario dans la region de North-Bay.
Ok, for everyone now, I'd like to find a trailer hitch for my little wagon... does anyone have one available... price and where you live please...
Thanx, Guy

I have me a hitch as well. it is a flat one with a small ball on it, but the tercel frame is strong enough that I was able to tow a Buick Lasabre up a fairly steep gravel road in extra low...I want a true reciever hitch though.

In fact, I do have a hitch on my 87, it is a custom made hitch made by a place here in Montreal. It is solid, bolted to the rear bumper reinforcement plus it goes under the fuel tank to bolt front of the tank on the chassis.
Very solid and strong. cost: 150$ canadian
I think I have all the black trim panels for the 87, i'll chack that
I prefer much better the black 87 interior than the grey 86

I'll look at my Racing Turtle and let you know.
I think it was made by a company here in Australia, but it should transfer over to someone there...

1983 Tercel SR5 with 185/75R14 tyres, 32/36 DGAV Weber carburetor, lumpy cam and upgraded Pioneer sound system. Veteran of several fire seasons (with the scars to show it) and known as "The Racing Turtle"
My 85 parts car came with a hitch, it was part of the reason I bought the car. It's a Draw-Tite, fixed mount, with a 2000 pound rating. It mounts using 2 threaded inserts that are already in the back of the bumper rebar, plus 2 holes you drill in the bottom of the rebar. You have to cut a piece out of the bottom of the bumper cover as well. It's a pretty nice design, not as nice as a receiver hitch, but much better than the universal ones.
Trailer hitch
Hi Vince, Can you give me a contact number for that trailer hitch that fastens to the chassis? Thanks, Burt
