I've known some people here in Nelson who buy these RHD just to flip 'em for a profit. I have seen a few of these along with Mitsubishi Delica diesel RHD to name another. Somewhat popular these RHD here in the Kootenays.

When I was living in the countryside of Hokkaido - North Japan last year for winter the only old cars on the roads were a few of these carib sprinters and about 2 1970's kombi's and Mitsubishi badged Jeeps (google them). Most cars in urban Japan are kept in amazingly good condition due to the stringent "Shaken" bi-annual testing regime.
There is still a tradition of 4wd cars in Japan that you never see anywhere else - including 4wd Honda Jazz and Civic and Corolla wagons (fielders) and small Kei cars. I wish they would import these still.

RHD or not, that is still too high. Those wheels only came on GTS corollas in the USA.
Some people, particularly British ex patriots, for some reason would pay more for the RHD, maybe that is the justification for the price. Dont know why anyaone would pay extra for a car that you can not get certain parts for locally. Heck, the All-trac is rare enough as it is.
