More Tercel Abuse...

Post by emmahumpfritter »

This years cow manure source lives 60 miles away. Being the ultimate frugal (cheap) arse, I used the wagon to fetch a load (instead of the truck. only 20 MPG!) To top it off, I had to leave town, and the manure sat in the back for 2 weeks. Needless to say the interior has smelled better.

I will say it again: if I could only own one car (or when our corrupted government mandates it) it will be a T4wd. They do nothing GREAT, but everything GOOD.

did you lay a whack of plastic down in the back? i see the bumper-mounted trailer hitch so i think i would have used a small trailer but regardless, i love seeing the car put to atypical use. i have no time for mint sunday drivers anymore.

Didn't you previously have the blue interior?

I would have used the boat!

I was hoping you found those farm pics when 2 out of 3 T4's got stuck. Your story would have been more impressive had you got the car stuck in cow manure as well!

Come on now, nothing great? How about leaving bigger awd vehicles in your snow dust. I spank everyone when the snow flies. I bet it hauls manure better too, because you will....

Any funny looks from the farmer? haha

Now that one should be renamed "Turdsmell the second", in honor of a list member who's wife renamed their Tercel4wd "Turdsmell" because she refused to ride in it...until the snow came.

If you do that regularly I would take out the carpet and put 3 coats of "Rinoliner" or some kind of similar bed liner, and perhaps install air adjustable shocks in the rear.

I did lay a tarp back there, but managed to spill a large amount around the interior anyway. If I had a trailer that certainly would have been the better way to go. I already annoy my poor neighbors with too much stuff for a small city lot. I'm always trying to hide or shuffle around various projects to make it look like stuff it going away. I really need 20 acres (at least)

Right now a Toyota echo in need of a new trans is occupying valuable real estate. I haven't been able to find a decently priced used one for weeks--other than in Canada. I swear every other car up there is an echo eh?

If it's worth the profit margin, pull one out of a yard and meet me in Seattle next time. I need to finish this car up!

Splat,

Those awesome farm pics were on my blackberry, which soon after ended up in Lake Superior via my pocket and a couple whiskey-cokes. I'm afraid those classics are lost forever :(

Great/Good argument: I'm rethinking, but can't come up with anything "great" due to their do everything nature. MPG's? good (not great) 4wd? good, Toyota trucks do great. Room? good. Tundra is great. Looks? well, I think they look great, but my opinion seems to be the minority everywhere but here :)

Petros, do they make air bags for our wagons? I'd go that route if so. They increased the usability of my Tacoma volumes.

you should be able to find generic lifting air bags that go inside the rear springs, they come in different sizes.
