ridiculous member headshots

Post by dlb »

as per discussed:

Image

the black/orange colour combo wasn't done because it was halloween, but rather because everyday is halloween. the irony of my friend's mom's goth shower curtains in the background only occurred to me now.

next!

WOW !
And to think that my G-kids' friends chortle at 71-year old moi with my looong ponytail and flowered Vans! And of course they snicker at Goldie.
I think I'll send your photo to the daughters and G-kids, with the note that

Awesome dlb, looks like that was taken awhile ago. Tomorrow hopefully I can dig up some old pics of mine and scan them in. Tough to find those, I think my mom burned most of them. Love the idea of a T4 hairdo, we could be world famous.

Tom you should reveal the 'tail! I work with a ponytailed older guy who had way too much fun in the '70s, it's fun to prod his memory lapses. He claims that back then he owned 'some sort of Subaru minivan' that he traded for 'a bag of the good stuff'. At least he enjoyed himself.

thanks man. i think that pic is from around 2000 or so. i actually dated an insanely hot older woman while i had them. they were sick, i loved them, but i didn't know how to care for them and they got ugly and gross after about 6 months. if only i could go back but my wife HATES dreads and says no way. i think i'll eventually wear her down and go for them again but shhhh, don't tell her.

give me a break peter, you know i don't drive that van for love of its engineering. i actually saw a toyota equivalent of the westfalia for sale here a few months ago, and it was diesel too! i really, REALLY wanted it but thought $12,000 for a vehicle--especially a used one--was about four times more than i am willing to spend on even the coolest vehicle. cars just aren't worth that much to me...unless i was going to sell ron. then i would ask a pretty penny.

back on topic: yes, more headshots! i don't want to be the lone contributor to this stupid thread!

If you can manage a ponytail at 71...you are way ahead of most dudes? I can't stand long hair anymore...itchy.

Well - I do wash it...and daily, too. Otherwise, as oily as it gets, I look like a beaver's butt just up on the beach from the BP oil spill.

Awesome locks Tom! I bet the coolest part about being a senior w/long hair is that you don't get hassled by the police. Maybe I'll grow mine back when I retire.

I'm still looking for some good hair pics of mine, then a scanner. Not trying to be dodgy.

Funny story about the PT at HS and collitch reunions (esp. at informal events when I'm wearing my Vans).
White-collar and above types will approach and ask "Are you an artist?"
My stock answer is "No, I'm a patent attorney."
Sometimes I vary it with "No, I've chaired the Audit Department at the Federal Reserve here in STL for years."
LOVE to see their faces, while my buddies just turn their heads and chuckle.
And occasionally, when I'm wearing the most outrageous pair of Vans and the woven bracelets, I say that I've organized the annual Pride Parade for years. That really cracks up my buddies, who know better, but enjoy the discomfort of those who dared to question me!
About the only perk to being an OF is that I don't have to worry about appearances to others (not that I ever really did - I owned a bicycle store, so could get away with a lot).
