Hello, wise ones.
My voltage regulator put over 15.5 volts out when get the rpms up high.
The FSM says to bend something or other. But I can't really see what to bend in what direction how much. And I can't find much helpful info elsewhere on the net.
Any experience, advice?
I am under the impression that anything over 14.8 is too much...

Re: Voltage regulator putting out too much voltage
you can fry your battery fast with too much voltage, watch for vapor boiling out of the battery. I think it is referring to the metal spring leaf in the voltage regulator, but often the regulator just fails.
There are two types of voltage regulators: external voltage regulator located on the inner fender well behind (to the right of it as you face it) the battery, this will be a little black box device next to the wire bundle. the other is internal voltage regulator mounted inside the alternator, if you have that one there would not be the little boxy thing next to the wire bundle between the battery and the inner fender well.
They do not cost much either way, they can be replaced fairly easily. I would consider replacing it. If you have the internal one you might consider just getting a whole alternator assembly from a self service wrecking yard. These are fairly reliable and should last a long time, so a used one is a good bet and lots less costly.
