Instrument cluster problems?

Post by aus_terc »

Hi all

I've just replaced all the vac lines and put a second hand carby into my '83 4wd terc paddock basher. She purrrrs now

Problem is- Tacho, temp gauge and fuel gauge are not working in instrument cluster. Speedo and quartz clock work fine. Everything was working a few weeks ago when it was running like a sick dog, then the car sat in the shed while I worked on it to get it running good (drained bad fuel, pulled off old carby, general service etc etc).
I've taken the cluster off and had a look, but I couldn't see anything of note, I also checked temp sensor on radiator and put in more fuel because I had only put a small amount in to start it, thought the float might register with a bit more in. Any ideas for trouble shooting this will be much appreciated :)

EDIT- Sorry, should have read FSM first! Gauge fuse was blown. Problem solved!

welcome to the list,

Yup, it sounded like electrical problem (speedo is mechanical), I would have told you to check the fuse and the ground for the cluster. But you fixed it already.

Where you from? Australia by any chance?
