with some monster studded snow tires it might actually be useful. I could use one of those.

where are you located? looks like you have two North American spec Tercel4wd there.
'87 Tercel 4wd SR5 (current engine swap project)
'84 Tercel 4wd (daily driver, with on going mods)
'92 Mazda MPV 4wd (wife's daily driver)
'85 Tercel 4wd DLX auto(daughter's daily driver)

so you have one of the few '88 models, hey? nice. we'll have to pick your brain to see if there are any differences between it and the '87.

i am in nova scotia canada had the plow on a 1986 for 5 years till the front end just rotted away then put it the 85 for the last 6 years. 12-15" of snow no problem , just plays with it never had a storm yet to stop it

that a great sample and story here , I have few people who say ( your tercel is a "WHAT" !! yeah that right , it came with 4X4 not AWD . Final ,last week , I brought a friend of my that I drove up the off-road with 12-15 snow , He gaps then I had to close his mouth.
