I am fixing to replace my CV axles. Right now there is a leak where the left axle enters the transaxle. There is a little plastic thing there that I assume makes a seal. What is this thing called? I hope I can buy them seperate.
Thanks!

tom's right about the depth placement of the seal. take a good hard look, or even better, a picture of the old one before you remove it to use as reference. remove the old one CAREFULLY so you don't gouge the soft aluminum trans. i had problems with the new seal i put in initially. it kept leaking even after i took it out and re-seated it several times, always checking the depth. finally spent another $6 and got another just in case the first one was faulty, and it was. hasn't leaked since. and i'm pretty quick at swapping out CVs now.
