distributor o-ring measurements

Post by dlb »

i bought a dizzy o-ring a while back, lost it before i actually got to doing the job, had to get another one for the job, and then just got another one for reggie (the project car). at $6/each from toyota, i decided i had spent about $16 too much on the damn things so i went directly from toyota to the local hydraulic place and got them to measure the OEM toyota dizzy o-ring and give me 6 more of them. they were only .78 cents each and i've found each T4 dizzy has needed a new one so i thought i'd keep a few extras on hand.

the measurements for the ring that i'm reading off of the receipt are 30.0 mm x 37.0 mm x 3.5 mm. should be easy enough to take those measurements to any hydraulic shop and get the right size o-ring for a fraction of what toyota asks, in case anyone is interested.

tom, wasn't sure if i should put this in the parts # forum but feel free to move it there if you think that's a better place for it.

I bought this set:

They have other sets....viton...HNBR...etc.

Beats paying what they charge at the local parts store...where the lady pulled out the same boxed set I now own and charged me something like 70-80- cents for one o-ring.
