I am offering for sale my 1988 Tercel 4WD DX wagon. The car is located in Amherst, Massachusetts. Here are the details:
- 202,262 miles.
- Automatic transmission (original and still going strong).
- No A/C. Never had it.
- Toyota radio/cassette single DIN unit. Not original and separate cassette desk is still installed. This model originally had a double DIN unit with radio on top and cassette on bottom.
- Light blue with black interior. Driver's seat cloth has tears. All other seats are in good condition.
- Car has spent entire life in New England, so there is some rust. Older rust has been covered with metal sheets (painted to match) that have been riveted to the body giving the car an almost Frankenstein look in places. It is not too bad and the car easily passes the state safety inspection.
- Brake booster leaks. Needs replacement.
- Low compression in 2 engine cylinders.
- Does not leak oil. It used to, but not now. Self sealing?
- Sticky throttle linkage. Every year I have to lube it as a part of the yearly maintenance.
- 2 sets of original style wheels. One set has Bridgestone Blizzaks mounted, while the other has Cooper Sportmaster GLTs. The Blizzaks have been through several winters, so they are not as grippy in the ice, but they do have usable tread and are fine in the snow. The Sportmasters also have some usable tread still on them.
- All lamp lenses are in good shape. No cracks.
- I am the second owner and the car was purchased in 1994, so I have the complete service history from that point on.
- The car just passed Massachusetts inspection this past August.
