Bypass tube was leaking after i replaced the water pump.
Took it apart and come to find out its loose as heck. There was no O-ring at all. I would assume i need one. Right? Or can I just silicone the part that holds the TSVS to the tube? Would that work?

check page 193 of the manual, aka CO-9. at the bottom of the page it looks like there should in fact be o-rings.

I'd suggest doing a Search in the Repair Guides and Questions sections; I know there were a number of threads on these O-rings some years ago with some tips.

using sealant there might work, but it really should have the o ring. When the parts heat up/cool off during daily usage there is likely some movement between these parts, and the reason that o ring set up is used, the sealant may bread down eventually. Though the o rings work well, I do not trust them either so I put sealant on the o rings to help lubricate them when I am installing the parts, I have damaged new o rings when they snag and tear.

Found the part number in one of those previous O-ring threads. I guess Ill order some and then just use the sealant on the tube after I get it all back together. Hadnt thought about the possibility of them moving when everything heats up and then cools down. doh!

Hey guess what? Its not the Bypass tube, although that was leaking. I didnt have a way to get to toyota, or money to order some so I siliconed it.
Still getting dribbles of water from behind the crank pulley. Let see if I can replicate its pattern with words.

You can visually see a fast drip at times.
It also stops leaking after the motor heats up some. Im thinking its the back of the water pump to block gasket cause thats the only place that doesnt have silicone along with the gasket. Ive had this thing apart 3 times now. (luckily Im running straight water at the moment.) Gonna try some pepper next time I go out. If that doesnt work, Ill try some stop leak. If THAT doesnt work, I guess its all coming apart again.

most likely source is the seal on the water pump. Better replace the water pump. If you can wiggle the water pump shaft, even a tiny bit, the bearing are on their its way out and will eventually trash the seal the bearing wear.

See, thats what I thought it was originally. Had some coming out the weep hole. So I replaced the water pump. Thats when I found out about the O-ring issue (which I solved with silicone). Got it all back together and its still leaking, but it stops after the motor warms up a bit. Im pretty sure its the water pump housing to block seal. Ill fix it when I replace the cam shaft seal, cause thats starting to leak.

Make sure the leak is not from the bypass tube seal where you silicon it. IT may be dribbling passed the silicon behind the pipe and pooling, then dribbling on the ground behind the waterpump since this is the path it would take.
I used RTV Gasket maker( the red kind) since I also had no O-ring here. It must have rotted away and rusted shut to prevent leaks. Take the pipe and water outlet as a unit out and use sand paper on the pipes mating surface and outlet gasket surfaces to clean them up. Hang the outlet gasket on the bolts on the head covering it in gasket sealer to stick it down. ( protip: Ask for a thermostat gasket at Autozone if they don't know what a water outlet gasket is. then ask for the square one) Next run a thick bead of RTV around the bypass tube mating surface and reassemble. If you try and seal the bypass tube around the base without disassembling it, it probably won't seal properly and have small leaks when the radiator pressurizes.

Im for certain the bypass tube wasnt leaking. I stuck my little mirror all over that sucker. Not a drop. It has to do with the pump housing. Im 99% sure.
