FENDER Wanted

I have begun the repainting process on my 86 automatic T4...and i need a drivers side fender. Anybody have anything?

well at this moment im looking at driving to Philidelphia to get one...wich is about 130 miles, but doable...il call some other local yards but theyv never had anything for this car on past attempts.

This is mostly true, except I believe the older 83-84 cars had the radio antenna on the opposite side as the newer ones...so I would wind up with 2 antenna holes, wich could actually be useful depending on what your needs are (other antenna could be used for TV/CB/WIFI etc). Even finding a hatchback for parts seems to be difficult around here...here in PA, winter road salting eats away many cars...

I thought the 2wd hatchback had smaller fender lips than the 4wd wagon, they will interchange but they do not quite look the same. Not sure about this, but I seem to remember noticing this when I was parked next to a hatchback.

I located another one around baltimore MD today...thats about 75 miles away...and i think they said they wanted $75 for it...the one around Philidephia was listed at $40...I may attempt to just repair it myself, i feel my metal working skills are pretty good after re-fabricating half of the undercarriage of tercel #1 (the diesel project, that im still waiting on the engine for..) .

The only different from 2WD /4WD is the front bumper which made the orange clearance lamp is different.

So i shouldnt be needing another fender now unless i really F@#% up the repair im attempting...and the worst is over now. This should look fine once i grind the boogers off and then after its totally primed & painted.

i'm hella impressed by your welding skills. i remember seeing some other pics of rust repair on the diesel conversion (i think) and it looked amazing. this looks like it will be just as good. nice work.

I agree, i think iv learned to use whats on hand very well. but whats on hand is probably the crappiest welder anyone can own...its just a Harbor Freight 110v gassless wire welder...Id love to get a real MIG welder and also a stick welder...or a large machine with its own generator that will do both MIG and stick...i think i could do alot better with better tools like that. but until i get money for something like that this is it for a while..
