I would like suggestions on how to repair the door. Has anyone taken pictures of their own projects that they could share with me. My email address is chromearts@gwi.net I have included a link to a product called Lab Metal. http://www.alvinproducts.com Has anyone used it? Your thoughts on the product as a option. Thanks

Re: Repair to bottom of door
That should be fairly easy, it is not structural, I have fixed similar problems: Sand blast, wire wheel and/or wire brush all of the rust. Sand blasting allows you go get inside tight places like between the metal layers in the door. You can also use Navel Jelly or something similar, just make sure all the rusted metal is removed. Than clean it off real good and put 4 to 5 coats of Rustolium primer, especially inside where you can not see it. And than use body filler to fill any holes, more primer than than color coats. The body filler and that metal product you posted is supposed to be applied directly over the bare metal, but it always worryies me that moisture will get down between the filler and the metal and cause it to rust out again. So I would rather put several coats of paint directly on all the old metal surface.
