Webers and Vac Advance

Post by neverone99 »

Jeez, this is really getting to be a hot topic. I just installed a Weber and used the Vac port on the side of the Weber. Now I am reading that some are using the manifold (gas filter) vacuum for vac advance. So which is it? I have read all the posts on this forum concerning both sides of this argument.

you're not kidding it's a hot topic. this is a pretty definitive thread: http://www.tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtop ... er+advance

there's a link in the first post of that thread that explains why manifold vacuum is more efficient than ported (carb) vacuum. give it a good read. long and short of it is to hook the vacuum advance up to the gas filter on the intake manifold.

Just to conclude - I am now in agreement that the Weber Vac Advance port should be left capped and the dist. vac advance should be connected to the gas filter (manifold pressure).

I had some doubts about this, but after a lot of trial and error - I'm confident that this (http://www.tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtop ... er+advance) is the right approach.
