I'll be putting my snow tires on my 84 Tercel tomorrow in hopes of us getting some snow here . The weather man had been saying we would get a bunch but now it looks like some snow and freezing rain . I don't think they know crap . Last year we got nailed out of the blue and the weather people didn't even expect it . The wife and I both have Jeep's with her's being a 99 tj wrangler and I have the 97 grand cherokee but I have to tell ya that the Tercel is the most fun to drive in the snow .

No kidding. What kind of job is that? I mean, even stockbrokers have to be right once in a while, but weather forecasters keep their jobs no matter what they say.

Tercels are great fun in the snow!!!!!

I LOVE driving in the snow, slush, and ice. I look forward to my work commute during snow storms just because of how much fun it is to slide around corners and climb steep hills. The nastier the conditions, the more fun I have. (this also holds true of driving 2wd cars...I just like being in snow, even if I end up walking home. LOL)

This year is the first time we've gotten any snow at all while I've owned a 4WD vehicle, so I can't compare my Tercel's performance against the '86 4x4 Blazer I had some years back, but I must say it's very impressive how well this little car does.

Just be careful and realize that though you might be having fun...disaster awaits on every ditch...won't take much to crunch one side of the front suspension and then the fun is over. I have to remind myself every winter...so far...it has worked.

Yes, quite true. I do try to have my fun while being careful about it at the same time. So far, so good.... *fingers crossed* But perhaps it is a better idea to just drive normally from now on.

Killjoy does have a point though. 4wd can get you in twice as much trouble. This last summer I needed the biggest tractor in town to get my Suburban out of a swamp.

Maybe it's 4wd and barley pops that were my problem. haha Good thing the T4 was at home that weekend...

Hey! I have my fun...probably a little too often. But...as I say...each winter when the snow/ice/grit hits the road I have to remind myself that the traction days are over...and even though these cars are rugged...if you hit something solid in the wrong way...the rides probably over.

Reality bites...you can laugh at it...but try to have the LAST laugh?

We have already gotten our average snowfall so far this winter. My T4 has spent more time in 4wd than fwd this winter. It's always nice to have the upper hand.

-21f forecasted tonight. Brrr!
