Parts guys...

Post by splatterdog »

Sometimes I sure hate them. Tried to order strut rod bushings and shifter boot/bushings from my local Toy dealer yesterday. No shifter parts on the planet he says. Also, like every other parts guy I have dealt with at said dealer, he has never heard of a T4.

So, I call Tom's goto guy(Dan) at toyotaoemparts.com. I said a member at T4wd.com referred me. He immediately new who! Anyway, shifter parts are on their way.

Thanks Tom for hooking us up with one of the good guys!

i love the guys at ToyotaOEMparts.com they have been great, easy to deal with and to be very honest, the prices are the exact same as my friend who works for a dealership here in tacoma can get.

Heyy - Thanks for the compliment!
I told you these guys at Butler knew their stuff! Glad it worked out!
And - their prices are not to be beat, as oh_canada00 mentions.
See - I haven't just been whistlin' Dixie over the last few years!
OT a bit, but - a couple of years ago I had the OE Toy numbers for some items (forget what) and called three STL dealers to get availability/price - they told me the parts no longer existed, so, like splatterdog, I called Butler (as I should have done initially) - and the parts were in my hands in less than a week. That was the last time I tried to get anything from a local Toy dealer - and I think we have eight or more in the Metro STL area.
This just shows that most Toy dealers could give a rat's patootie about old Toys (at least T4WDs and, by extension, any of Toy's old econoboxes). Why? A buck is a buck, right?

Mea culpa to 4wdchico: He had made a couple of posts in error here and I deleted them. But I inadvertedly ALSO deleted his post on being happy with dealings with Butler.
Sorry.
