Replacing rusted bracket for rear anti sway bar

The mechanic inspecting my car told me that the bracket for the rear anti sway bar is rusty enough to be of concern. He said that it is attached to the frame and didn't think anyone would want to try and repair it. Has anyone on the forum got any ideas?
Another item is a exhaust hanger at the left rear. Mine is gone. I only have had two of these wagons but love them and I know that it might not be realistic to keep it on the road. I may sell it to someone on a island nearby where it doesn't have to be inspected.

Could be time to buy that welder you always wanted.

Or maybe find a smaller repair or body shop that will weld on your chassis.

Craigslist auto services section might have some backyard guy in your area too. Buyer beware though....

I might have one of those brackets you need, you can have it for mailing cost. but there is a left and right one (not the same), which side do you need and see if you can get a picture of it to make sure it is the same part. There is a bracket the bolts to the frame that is not part of the swap bar link, the link itself attaches to this bracket with the rubber mounts.

I think any muffler shop can fix your mount, that is something they normally do anyway. It will not be stock, but it should be good enough, and not cost much either.

Just to make sure we are all on the same page. Are we talking sway bar or panhard bar(parallel to and right behind rear axle)?

The panhard mount is more common to rust out.

The mounts for the swaybar to the body are removable and side-dedicated, as Petros mentions. I would think that a good muffler shop or a blacksmith could bend/weld sheet metal to duplicate these.
Or - do you mean the brackets that the swaybar bolts to that are welded to the axle?

Is there a website that I can go to to see images of the sway bar and other undercarriage components? I couldn't look at the view topic images mentioned in a response. Being that I don't have a inspection sticker on the car I have to map out my strategy about getting it repaired.

You could go to the FSM available for download at the top of every page and/or go to the EPC sticky in the Parts Forum and do some drilling (read the first post completely there, though).
