Free! Stock Tercel steel wheels

Post by Petros »

I have a set of four stock 13" steel wheels, tires removed, I do not need or want. Good condition, no dents o, little rust, could use a clean up and new paint. You can even have a set of stock hub caps to go with them. Use them for a set of winter tires, or what ever.

You have 24 hours to speak up, or they are going to the scrap yard along with a load of scrap I am taking away tomorrow.

Either pick them up locally from me (I can even deliver them locally in the Puget Sound area as my schedule allows), or you can pay for shipping them from western Washington State.

Hello!
I would love those wheels and the hubcaps. How much for shipping and your time to send them out to Salt Lake City Utah 84105? I am not sure how big and heavy they will be.
Thank you,
Rob

I will save them for you if you want, they weigh 15 lbs each. so all 4 with packing and hub caps would likely ship for about 65 lbs.

My zip is 98223, go check with USPS and UPS websites, and also Greyhound bus web site has a great deal on shipping (they ship station to station, but usually the best deal for larger items). I would do it for you but today I am on a painfully slow dial up connection. let me know soon.

Just checked shipping cost; looks like UPS is cheapest: about $45 (to your door in one large box) and USPS is not bad, likely you would have to get it from your local post office at $48 total (in two packages).

Before you commit however, I realized there are two different styles there, 3 are the early style white wheels, 1 is a silver later style, has more vent holes than the earlier style. All the same size. I have an other while one, but I have to get the tire off of it before I ship it.

Do you still want them?

I am a bit confused.. Will you ship me a matching set of four? That is what I am looking for. The paint color does not matter to me, just the style. These rims will be painted and mounted with non-stud all weather tires for summer use. If you have a matching set of four, I would love them!
Thank you!

too late for those, gone now. They did not all match, the later silver ones are similar but not the same, they have more of the square holes in the them, they appear different. Not to worry, I have a number of other matching stock wheels, they have tires on them so I have to get them unmounted. when I do I will let you know. If you want to pay for having the tires removed, and the shipping cost, I can have them ready for you in week or so.

I want to clear out the old wheels and tires I am not using (they are sitting around my property), and I have two complete sets of steel wheels I am not using (came from parts cars I scrapped). I junked the one set that had no tires on them (the scrap place will not take them with tires on them), and I have at least 8 more to clear out.

PM me if you want them.

Hello,
Thank you for the reply, but now I have bigger problems and the wheels will have to wait. A whole single roller bearing came out with the oil and other pieces of metal from the transaxle when I was changing it... Need to address that first. Looks like its time for a new trans. Can I rebuild this myself? What kind of special tools does this require? I wounder if any of the members rebuilt thier 6 speed transaxle?
Thank you,
Rob

I do not think it takes special tools, at least ones you can rent if necessary (pullers, etc.). The problem is finding new parts to replace the old ones. If it works okay perhaps you just need to replace the bearings and the seals, I suspect those might be available. It is much easier (and usually cheaper, if you can find new parts) to find a whole good trans and swap it out.

I just happen to have a whole transaxle from an '83 (with the same ratios as your '84) in my garage I have been saving. It would be a bit costly to ship, but I would be willing to selling. I am converting over my '84 to use the later trans and diff ratio, so I will not need it as a spare.
