Front Suspension Rebuild, Part #'s Etc.

Post by Mad_Marx »

I've searched the forum and didn't see anything that specifically addressed a front suspension rebuild with Tweaks, Tips, Upgrades, Tricks, or things to watch out for. My Terc4wd is starting to show it's age and I'm interested in upgrades if possible. I've already swapped out the front struts and outer tie rod ends (along with the rack and pinion bellows*boots*). I still need Ball joints, and bushings. I emailed Energy Suspension and they don't list any replacement parts in their line up. Anyone have any preference/experience with the different brands of ball joints, bushings, or bearings that are available? Part numbers and or reference would be of great help.

Thanks
Mad

P.S. My ride is an 86 DLX 5/6 speed.

Welcome to the Club! Where are you located?

I would suggest a Search; OE part numbers for front suspension bits (including the ones you've mentioned) have been posted, as well as various AM parts and sourcing.
There are also many tips/suggestions/caveats/warnings posted in the Repair Guides and Repair Questions Forums.
Pay particular attention to the posts/threads/pix on the sway bar's location in the control arm.
