are you sure it's not just the heater controls? i've found them to be pretty prone to malfunctioning. mine doesn't work on the 1 or 2 settings, and the controls from my parts car are the same. it's a much easier job than the blower motor though.

Those blower fans seem to cost only $20 at pick and pull and when I went to the Kelowna pick n pull they had lots of the hatchbacks from 83-87 and three of the station wagons. It is very easy to remove and the non-4wd and non-station wagon versions should have the same blowers.

I can get one for you, if I do not have one in my boxes of junk. Verify you actually need the motor (try a jumper wire direct from battery, or check you have power at the motor with volt meter with the switch "on") and than PM me if you still need it.

A guy in Lakewood, WA posted a Craigslist ad on 6/30/10 for misc T4WD parts, including a blower motor

looks like the ad's been pulled from Craigslist, but if you can't find another source it might be worthwhile calling him

If you do a search on the blower motor...you'll find some stuff...there is an issue with a resistor that goes bad and causes the speed control not to work.....guy had a way to repair this resistor. Might still be on here.

As you might be able to work out why mine broke again after 12 months and now I am back to only full and no speed fan.

I posted a method of repairing the resistor pack about a year ago.
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3651#p27337
No pics, I did it before I joined the forum. The reason that they go bad is the resistor coil vibrates to death eventually after the ceramic adhesive breaks up. I used the barrel of an 18-20ga crimp connector(after snipping the fork off of it) to effect the repair. You can't solder the wire, its Nichrome, so you have to use a mechanical crimp to do -besides, the resistor coil heats up and solder might melt anyway.
