Re: Fuel Pump/Heat Issues
I decided to swap out my fuel pump last night to fix an oil leak. Along the way I loosely wrapped the heat shield, all the fuel lines and other parts of the fuel system with aluminum foil. Now if it ever warms up around here I can see if it helps.
looking at the system all in place it strikes me that the fuel line must pass an inch over the top of the exhaust manifold, and it is trapped between the valve cover, the carb, the air filter housing, and all of the vac lines. All of this would make a nice little oven for the fuel supply line. Not a good design at all. I wonder if rerouting the fuel line to pass around the carb the other way is a good idea or not. Might be worth it for you owners in hot climates.

Re: Fuel Pump/Heat Issues
I have the original spacer that came with the car, plus if I can't find it I have my super-secret Tercel graveyard to pull parts from...
