Okay, now I figured we needed a nice topic for "beefing up" the Tercs. This is for anything from roll-bars, to stronger gears, to better seat-belts, to increasing mileage.
Please post the way to do it, what materials were used, (if you don't mind) how much it cost, and how long it took.

I guess I'll get it going.

Anyone who knows ANYTHING about making the differentials strong enough for 200+ horses, please, let us know.

Anyone know anything about prepping the tranny for a high-powered beast?

How do you keep the frame from torquing?

Anyone know how to put in three-point belts in the back?

Can air-bags be retro-fitted?

Air-horns- which are good, has anyone installed them, and how effective were they?

Fuel-saving mods (air-spinning devices, magnetic fuel treatments, spark plug wires, etc)

Normal maintainance (spark plugs, air filters, fuel filters, oil, oil filters- whats your preference, and why?)

I have some EYE-TOWL-EEEE-AN air horns on another car.....they were left on a car I owned for a short time.

Good to use for goosing pedestrians...for the times when you don't need those extra brownie points. Problem with mine are that in colder weather they won't go so good.

If the horns are separate from the compressor...you can mount them down where they are free from obstructions...very loud.

maybe someone could develop a custom cold-air intake for the tercel - with custom piping and high-flow filter

Could you use titanium roll bars? I have heard that titanium everything is popular, but a little expensive.

There was mention of a full-frame tubing setup, but I have yet to know anything much about it.

Frame supports= yes. Unless you want a nice torqued frame. Dunno if the driveshafts need beefing? Bigger brakes are always good, especially if you can get the right size discs for the rear.

other than google is there anything online or in books i can find on frame bracing and the therories and designs that are the most efficient because i dont want to add too much weight to the car. im at school right now(auto tech) so as soon as i get home ill be on google and finishing up browsing all the other pages in the forum :D

Well I suppose the best way to go is using lightweight BUT STRONG materials. You obviously don't want to create a spiders web here, unless you are creating a 500 horse drag-beast
Somewhere in one of my threads someone described a full-frame tube chassis.
