I'm sorry Darren, but I DO NOT want an electrical fire in my car. Ever push 240 volts 30 amps thru a cord specced for 120 volt 15 amp? It will catch fire pretty quick. Do you ever wonder why the power companies use 8 guage wires in spindles of 100-1000 to feed their currents? So things don't fail due to heat.
I'm sorry if I sound like I'm trying to make you inferior. Okay. Now. The whole purpose of more conductive materials is to deacrease heat generated. Why, you might ask. Because by simple laws of energy, the more heat that is generated, the more energy is lost to radiant heat, thus, less energy reaches its destination. Ever wonder why computers/power supplies/ anything with electricity going thru it heats up? Resistance my friend. It generates heat. And like I said, the more heat generated, the more power lost. Do I want to feed 800 watts thru a cable to end up with 150 at the other end, because of the massive resistance of the very thin wire? No. What a waste. Not to mention fires and fumes from hell.
Clear and crisp means without distortion. Paper element speakers cause a loss of crispness and clarity due to distortion of the weak material. Mica-injected polymer materials and the other materials used by high end companies reduce distortion, thus improving clarity and crispness. Crispness is basically a note not getting distended, or in other words, drawn out longer than intended. This creates mushy sloppy sound. The more responsive the system is, the better. Stiffer materials with higher power feeds respond better than weaker materials with weak feeds. Clarity means lack of distortion by slurring of sounds and the emitting of sounds of improper key/tone. Again, stiffer materials with higher power feeds do this better.
You ever wonder why the el' cheapo Radio Shack speakers cost maybe $25? They use flimsy materials. Ever wonder why a pair of Rockford Fosgate Punch 5.25inch speakers will set you back $190? Because they use stiffer, more powerful componants. Please, do not try to lecture me on how I am wrong because I enjoy a higher level of quality when it comes to sound.
Audiophile PARANOIA Land? Ummm... Paranoid of what, pray-tell?
I'm very very sorry to say it, but please. If you wish to argue with me, why not go spend 512 hours doing research on sound systems? If I can do it, so can you! And thats just web-research! Please, do not tell me I am misinformed, because wiring is rediculously important. Would you put a strand of quarter-millimeter thick lead in for your 240-volt 35 amp garage feed? Of course not (at least I'd hope you aren't that foolish?)
Ever wonder why a lightbulb works? Because they pass electricity thru wiring that is very very thin and has a fairly high resistance level, creating extreme heat which causes the element to glow brightly, illuminating the room.
Why do they put heatsinks on CPU's? To dissapate the HEAT that is generated by the very very thin wiring inside, to prevent systems melt-down.
Look, just because I'm young does not by any means mean I am stupid.
I sincerely hope I did not offend you in any way.

My 2 cents, for what it's worth.
I work on aircraft and do wiring jobs on them quite often. Specifications should always be followed when choosing wiring. Not doing so will result in at least a system not functioning properly, at worst smoke and maybe even fire (DESTROYING YOUR EQUIPMENT IN THE PROCESS).
In short, use the bigger stuff if your in doubt about the specs.

Whatever dude. I am not a silly little person who believes everything he reads or hears. I think at this point you are just a pointless little person with nothing better to do than annoy people on the internet. Please, either get a life, or get real.

"You have apparently made up your owndefinitions for clear and crisp, for I could not find your definition "without distortion" anywhere in any dictionary, online or offline. There is nothing wrong with plainly saying distortion-free."
"Drive the car into your driveway, pop open the hood, remove the radiator cap. Back the car out, drive in a new car, and replace the radiator cap."
"Deleting a user because they don't get along with others, definitley qualifies as being a dick. Besides, I have logs, I have screen shots. Anyone who was dedicated enough to poop on this great forum's party would simply come back with a different username, from different IP addresses."
Actually, deleting you because you cause problems is a smart thing to do, ask anyone. Logs, screenshots? Different username, different ip? Don't bother.
You're always trying to be the smart one, like you know everything there is to know about everything. Didn't I mention something on the last post you made? Obviously you didn't take your warning very seriously. I don't care HOW much you know, if you're going to be stupid about it, keep it to yourself. Don't bother logging back in, as you're now banned. If i see anything else from your comcast account it'll be deleted, so do us all a favor and leave. And don't come back.
Let this be an example to anyone else who has an attitude, tries to be smarter than everyone, and doesn't listen to the admins.

I just wish he could've expressed his opinion in a less "I'm superior" way. We might've had some pretty good conversations. Oh well.
Ok, update on the sound system- I now have an amplifier and am looking into wiring. It's moving along quite nicely B)

Again, a gift from my sis' fiance. Clarion Power Amp 4/3/2 Channel APA4162.

russkiypenguin,
Its probably better that the posts were deleted... nothing but troble, and a link to a disgusting picutre that im sure nobody wants to ever see. Saw it on saturday night... not good.
People like that come into boards all the time, and if you just completely ignore them, they usually go away. Pretend they are invisible or something.
On the other hand, I did see swearing on one of Typrus' posts, and icE mentioned the "gay". Thats kind of.... offensive. Any board can do without the swearing.
Sweet deal on the amp! Did you look into those high power alternators I posted a link to? From northwestoffroad

yeah i dont really like cussing, where i'm from no one considers the G word cussing so i'll be sure to stay away from it on here. I usually don't say anything offensive unless someone upsets me
And there was no important information in the post so don't worry about it
nice deal on the amp dude! 500W rms? or peak? if its 500w rms that's a killer amp! Let us know how the install goes and how it sounds when you get the rest of your stuff together

Yeah, I looked at the alts, just have to see if they'll bolt up with little modification. RMS from what I read.
BTW, sorry if I cursed, I get a little angry sometimes.
As soon as I buy the wiring, you all will know.
