Bosch CIS
Has anybody attempted to adapt the Bosch CIS from the VW rabbit to a T4? no electrics other than the pump, should be easy.

Re: Bosch CIS
I had several CIS-equipped VWs ('81 Rabbit and '79 Scirrocco) in the '80's. CIS requires:
- a very high pressure fuel pump ($$)
- a fuel accumulator mounted somewhere close to the tank ($$)
- an underhood, delicate fuel distributor ($$$$) with braided lines going to the CIS injectors
- prolly other stuff I've forgotten
If you can somehow locate all this stuff in good working condition it still not work nearly as reliably or efficiently as MPFI. In the 9 months I had my Rabbit it wouldn't start only once - I was lucky to get away with a $300 fuel accumulator. Alot of CIS cars still on the road now have been converted to carbs. There's a reason we do FI differently now. Just my 2 cents.

It's a scientific fact that in a twin engine aircraft, when one engine fails there is always enough power in the remaining engine to make it all the way to the crash site.

Re: Bosch CIS
Yep, my friend's CIS Rabbit just randomly started puking fuel into the system to the point that it was literally dousing the spark.
TBI would get you what you're after, can be easily programmed, and would pretty much just require a standard EFI fuel pump and some wiring.
Multi port would be awesome (and is the direction I'm going with mine), but requires more work in the form of an intake manifold and fuel rail.

Re: Bosch CIS
Mercedes used the same CIS system... and I can tell you the guys I know who love old mercedes, Hate their CIS systems. CIS works really well when everything is new, but its complicated enought that after 20+ years you are changing out one part or another pretty much constantly. I'd rahter have a carburator.
My first car was a Tercel, and I'm still driving a Tercel, some people say I need an Intervention.
