I was wondering if these tercels had a back lit instrument panel in the center counsel mine is totally black and am thinking that it might be a blown fuse or they dont have it at all.

Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

Do you mean the heater control panel? It is lit and should come on with the dash lights. I have had one that had a poor connection and sometimes would not come on until I went over a bump. You can get at the bulb by pulling the panel that the heater controls come through.

Look at the center of the third photo down in waynehoc's post and you will see the black bulb holder and wire; also a couple of posts in this thread have some removal info.
