For anything not badly broken or swiss cheese, that's not too far out of line for our state. I've been looking out for T4's since the late 80's. Being as cheap and handy as I am, 100 bucks is the most I like to spend on a car. Over 10 years ago is when I finally found one close to my price range, or should I say it found me. Got it from a tow jock for $450. Had 2 years expired Washington plates under the seat. Too bad he didn't owe my boss less cash at the time. I was stoked to see it getting dropped off his truck. He likely paid nothing or even charged for it's removal. Main thing it needed was a battery. Worst thing it needed was a rear axle housing. I didn't notice it was slightly bent until rear tires started to get chowed. It was toe'd in and cambered evenly enough it didn't pull.

Anyway, it was the very first one I saw under the $1400 range.

A couple years ago a decent looking,at least nice for MN. car, went for $800 on the local charity car auction site. Can't remember it's mechanical status. Most their stuff is broken. Must have been a previous owner on that bidders list..

Just going to have to wait for a broken one to come along, and hope I don't beat you to it! haha

Wow, I've never even heard of Corolla alltrac sedans, or a Camry all trac. And to see both for sale, very impressive.

As far as the Tercel, it would not last a day on Denver Boulder Craigslist at that price.

Wow, I guess I'm spoiled by the cars I have bought. $350 for the most recent T4wd, but that is in need of some welding although it has a rebuilt engine and runs great. I did spend $900 on my first wagon, and that was in pretty good shape and only had 130K on it. I guess to me over 200K = under $1000 no matter what.

I am currently driving a Corolla that I got for $250, form California, no rust whatsoever, all it needed was rear shocks and a front crankshaft oil seal (has new cylinder head, front shocks, axles).

I guess if I had $1400 I might be tempted by a rust free tercell, but my frugal gene might kick in regardless. I guess I still have a chance its been re-posted http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/csw/c ... 39712.html
