Vacuum Hoses

Post by marquiess »

I live in Montana where there are no emission laws. I have a broken TVSV and it's way too expensive to replace so I want to disconnect the vacuum lines. Does anyone know of a diagram that shows how someone has blocked/bypassed or modified all the vacuum lines in the engine bay or bypassed the TVSV?
At the moment I have them all blocked off and it runs perfectly but not until it has warmed up for 10 minutes or so. If it doesn't start immediately then I have to leave it for an hour before it will start. In MT it is too cold to be standing around for an hour and I am sure the lines I blocked off have this effect.
I appreciate pictures or diagrams of modified lines to help me.
Thanks.

Not to be horsey - but did you do a Search here? There are some threads lurking in this Q Forum.
I pursued this myself, but the Aisan just won't work too well without vac stuff.

read the function of the TVSV in the FSM, and you can by pass it. It allows vac advance only a cooler engine temps, and than it causes spark retarding. There is no benefit to spark retarding excpet for emissions, it affects both power and ecomey. I would by-pass the valve so only the vac advance works, and block off the vac retard lines.

Thanks. I guess I should have searched on here first. There are some good articles.

There is a post with the vac diagrams in it. I tried to bypass most of the vac tubing once and couldn't get mine to run right.

I have now actually repaired the valve by looking at the pics in this repair guide. Just waiting for the battery to charge and try it.
