1986 Toyota Tercel 2WD 5-speed station wagon FOR SALE

Hallo!

1986 Toyota Tercel 5-speed 2WD station wagon
- 277,000 km
- metallic light turquoise green
- Japanese engine
- "new" used transmission a few years ago
- all records, receipts, repair, and other documents have been kept by me, its first and only owner
- purchased new at Downtown Toyota, Vancouver, by me
- factory rustproofed (pretty bad rustproofing!)
- very little rust, diligently washed the undercarriage after every road salting
- has been driven to California and back about 10 times
- has never been driven to any other province of Canada or further north than the Okanagan (not a skier's car)
- Air Cared and insured until October 30, 2009

It "needs a new engine" according to the mechanics I spoke to, who refuse to repair it. Friends say it could need only a valve job. I'm not a mechanic so an engine rebuild is too expensive for me. It leaks oil but is drivable, actually VERY drivable. If I was capable of repairing it myself I would, because this car has been very useful to me – loads of room, I can sleep in the back if I need to, great visibility, good on gas, etc., etc.. Super little car but I guess you know that.

Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated! Offers to repair or purchase too!
