I have been using the ANCO wiper refill blades.....work fine when new, but have to replace them every 6 months or so.

I tried some special blades one time and they didn't work too well.

Has anyone found good refills or blades that last a long time??????...and that aren't gold plated??????????

walmart "triple edge" in a blue and yellow box. supposedly last wiper you will buy, made out of silicon. i have them on all my cars...they put a film on the windshield that does the same thing as "rain x". be carefull, i wsa doing 70 on 295 one time had wipers on intermittent and didnt realize how bad it was raining until i saw cars parked on side of highway...it does take some time using it for the film to work though. and the wipers will streak, but dont fret keep using them after a month of using them they will work great. i have a car thats had them for 8 years with no problems.

Are those those ricer-looking ones?
I've heard about those silicone ones. Your supposed to wash your windshield before putting them on then have them wipe a few times while dry so the silicone rubs off as far as I was told.
http://www.tirerack.com sells one brand of silicone single blades that I've been looking at for a while. For the Terc I think they are $19 a blade.
We were using ANCO blades on our Passat and Excursion, but both have pretty tense retainer springs and eat thru them. Even though our Excursion has very tense springs in the front (the back isn't tense worth anything.. Got a faulty spring I think) they stil lift from the windshield when going 70mph+, when you really need to see. It's obnoxious, so we're getting Sporza's. Might try a (Valeo?) blade on the back to compensate for the lack of tension.

How much did those Walmart ones cost?

I use those trico winter blades. Been in use for a while now they have a rubber covering and other special things that make them work well. Thats my fancy talk for dodad's. Really expensive though.

I have some Bosch wiper blades on mine. I don't remember how much we paid for them, but they're pretty good. On the other hand, after sitting for a while and accumulating all sorts of dust and crap on them they sort of deteriorated a little but after a couple of windshield wiper strokes they were ok.
