3AC - 3AU Engine Differences

Post by ariscmarquez »

Hello everyone,
What is actually the difference between 3AC and 3AU engine?
Is there an issue also when it comes to parts compatibility of both engines?

The reason being is that, I have a 3AU Engine on my tercel, and someone is offering me parts of 3AU for a very very very friendly price.
Items i will buy are, carb assembly, intake manifold, 70amp ic type alternator, A/C compressor, starter, cylinder head, exhaust, distributor, ignition coil, flywheel, new clutch disc and release bearing, plessure plate, pistons, connecting rod, water pump, fuel pump and more... actually the whole engine without the engine block...

thanks in advance...

most of the "hard parts" would be the same, difference would be in carb and emission controls. If the price is right, the clutch assy might be worth it alone. I would go for it.

Good luck.
