Has anyone successfully installed
a factory sunroof in a non-sunroof car?

The factory sunroof is a powered item - would be quite challenging to install...also a different headliner, I think.

I have installed an aftermarket sunroof. A simple hand operated hinged sunroof. It was relatively simple to mark and cut the roof (and liner) with a saber saw (like a big jig saw). The tricky part is getting a good seal. I had to redo mine and have a lovely brown stained headliner halo around the sunroof. I used some kind of adhesive on the top frame and then some sticky rubber window sealing strip on the inside. Seems to have worked.
