Starters are easy to rebuild, usually it's only the brushes that need to be replaced.

Tom -- THANKS for the link to info about the heater control panel. No wonder I didn't see the light when I had the panel exposed... it's underneath, hard to see and even harder to get at. Oh well, skinned knuckles & mild cursing, here I come...

1987 Tercel DLX 4WD wagon, 6-speed manual, 277K -- got this one running Jan. 2015 (had been sitting for 2 years); this has been my primary daily-driver since 2016

well , those starter and alternator are life time warrenty , when i bought them , it should be brand new bushing in first place , problem with starter , i had to use hammer to tap on solenoid , shaft are sticky , when driving in snow then it got worst , they make or rebuild them are crappy performance .
as for Alternator , very noisy and very poor amps output , while driving is ok but when stop at street light , head light start to blinking . if i try to fix them then warrenty exspire so what i did exchange in differnet brand for no charge even if they are worth more , beside alternator only take me 10 minutes replace than waste more time repairing alternator and starter take me 20 min or more to replace it , because the more i do it, the better and faster i can do it.
